STEP 1

  • Fill Online Application Form & Make Payment
  • Get Call for Further Information, Documents Required

STEP 2

  • MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification can be obtained at three levels
    • Certification Level 1: BRONZE
    • Certification Level 2: SILVER
    • Certification Level 3: GOLD.
  • Complete ZED Pledge. Link Will be sent along with Instruction

STEP 3

  • After ZED Pledge, Application Process will Start
  • Provide Details & Documents as Required

STEP 4

  • Government Processing Time
  • In the event of a non-conformity, the applicant MSME will be given the chance to resolve the non-conformity(ies) within a specified time frame in order to be eligible for the desired level/certification.

STEP 5

  • Resolution of Queries if any, Raised via Authorities
  • Issuance of ZED Certificate on email

Its Purpose and Component

MSME ZED Certification is an extensive effort to raise MSMEs' understanding among MSMEs about Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) practices, motivate and incentive them for ZED Certification, and encourage them to become MSME Champions. MSMEs can significantly reduce waste, increase productivity, raise environmental awareness, save energy, use natural resources more efficiently, extend their markets, and so on by pursuing ZED Certification. MSMEs will also be encouraged to embrace best practices in workplace culture, product, process, and system standardisation, and so on, in order to improve their global competitiveness and sustainability. The ZED Certification strives to improve an MSME's competitiveness by assessment, handholding, management and technological intervention, and is thus more than merely a certification.

Goals of the ZED Certification Program for MSMEs include:

  • To attain high quality and productivity with the least environmental impact, it is important to encourage and empower MSMEs to manufacture quality products using modern technology and techniques and improve their processes continuously.
  • In order to increase competitiveness and make exports easier, MSMEs should establish an ecosystem for ZED manufacturing.
  • Recognise the achievements of MSMEs and push for the use of ZED techniques.
  • Graded incentives can be used to encourage MSMEs to achieve greater levels of ZED.
  • Through the MSME ZED Certification, we can raise awareness about the need for products that are free of defects and effects.

Component of MSME ZED Certitifications

Awareness Programmes: Industry Associations, Implementing Agencies, MSME-DIs, DICs, OEMs, and BEE will assist MSMEs acquire ZED.

Training: MSME Officers, Assessors, and Consultants will be trained on the MSME ZED to help QCI, BIS, and NPC implement it.

Assessment & Certification: MSMEs will be assessed (desktop verification, remote assessment, onsite assessment) and awardeda relevant Certification Level after meeting its criteria.

Incentive: Graded incentives will be given by the Ministry of MSME to promote MSMEs to obtain higher ZED Certification levels.

Promotion: The MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification will be promoted nationwide.

Handholding: MSMEs will be assisted in achieving higher ZED Certification levels and upgrading technology for zero-effect solutions/pollution control/cleaner technology.
